Retro-jetting and Flushing
As the largest and most experience Retro-jetting and flushing
in the world, we offer to perform all of the routine production flushing runs
to effectively remove debris.
The retro-jetting and flushing is normally used to remove loose
construction debris from pipe work prior to hydro testing, but can also be use
during shutdown operations to remove any loose production blockages such as
sand or scale. Small diameter lines are typically flushed with a high velocity
circulation of water from high to low end with centrifugal pump unit.
Velocities within the pipe need to be about 5m/sec in order to effectively
remove debris and as such, the pump sizes, which would be required to flush pipes
of 10” diameter and larger, would be prohibitively large and require very large
quantities of water.
Retro jetting units are used in order to achieve the high velocity flushing
effect in large diameter pipes with only minimal water delivery requirements
and with a smaller spread of equipment.
